Special Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day if I’m completely honest. There’s so much pressure for it to be a day filled with displays of affection and love that, very often, it’s a sure-fire way to make sure you have an almighty argument. I think last year I spent the day panelling a wall! This year, however, I think it just might be the excuse we all need to have a little fun, get dressed up for once and show our other halves that we care. It’s been a terrible twelve months and if there is one thing I’ve learned it’s that life is quite precious, actually and we should never wait to say I love you.

Heart made of pebbles on a beach

The most my hubby, Mr C or I would usually do is buy a card and quite often we might even forget to do that! What we don’t forget to do though is to head off to the Marks and Spencer food hall to buy their Valentine’s Meal Deal. It’s all about the food! That reminds me – we usually find it a good excuse to buy three or four of those meals and freeze them. It’s always such a good deal and who doesn’t love a Beef Wellington, heart shaped chocolates and drop of fizz? You never know, the other half might just get amorous – get ready for a night of rumpy pumpy!

My Special Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Anyway, I digress. In honour of this extra special heart-pumping, cherry-popping, lip-smacking day of lurve, I thought I would put together a little Special Valentine’s Day gift guide. I’ve highlighted a few of my favourites below and there is a shop carousel of the entire guide directly within this post. You can also just click on “Shop My Style” in the top menu of my website and find all sorts of gorgeous bits. Do check at the bottom of each product description as I have some discount codes for you. Have fun!

Plant A Bloomer

The Plant a Bloomer range is the creation of designer Rani Deshpande. Created from a unique seed paper made from recycled materials, when ‘planted’ the flower will break down into the soil — and the seeds germinate to produce seedlings! It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for a garden or plant lover.

I’ve chosen three lovely creations from the range, two of which have the seeds embedded and one, which is more of a home craft option.

Plantable Hearts Gift Box – 3 large hearts and 9 small hearts in pink and red paper embedded with petals and wild flower seeds. It comes in a reusable gift box – £22.50.

Scalloped Heart Plantable Gift – A large single scalloped paper heart embedded with petals and wild flower seeds. Comes with a die-cut gift tag and a natural jute drawstring pouch – £6.95.

Heart Weave Me Card – Use the blunt needle and gold flecked twine to weave a heart motif. The pattern of holes on the card allow you to create your own design for Valentine’s Day. Comes with recycled paper kraft envelope and instructions – £6.95.

A British Classic

I’ve been a huge fan of Noble Isle for years now. Noble Isle is an exquisite, fine fragrance Bath & Body brand inspired by the natural and cultural riches of the British Isles, featuring extracts sourced from local celebrated producers, including Rhubarb from England, Sea Oak from Ireland, Barley from Scotland and Beetroot from Wales. I’m hoping the complimentary toiletries at our airbnb @theharbourdeckhouse will be from Noble Isle. The would be so great to only use British-made, locally sourced, sustainable and eco-friendly products.

I hope you find the guide helpful and manage to bag your loved one something gorgeous. Do remember there are a lot more ideas with my “Shop My Style Page”. Happy Valentine’s Day.
